Burton Snowboards, the world's first snowboarding factory, is a rider-driven company solely dedicated to creating the best snowboarding equipment on the planet. Burton's passion is snowboarding is evident by their commitment to involve riders in every step of the product development process.

Headquartered in Burlington, Vermont with international offices in Innsbruck, Austria and Tokyo, Japan, Burton has lead the snowboard industry for 28 years.

By supporting a Global Team of the world's top riders, Burton Snowboards has fuelled the growth of snowboarding worldwide. Their support and development of successful programs like Learn to Ride (LTR), Chill Foundation, Free the Snow and the Open Championships has also contributed to snowboarding's tremendous growth and exposure over the years.

Jake Burton, founder and owner of Burton Snowboards, has dedicated the past 28 years of his life to snowboarding. In 1977, Jake founded Burton Snowboards in South Londonderry, Vermont. Through the years, he's played a vital role in transitioning snowboarding from a backyard hobby to a world-class sport. Deemed the "Pioneer of Snowboarding", Jake just sees himself as someone who loves to ride.

Men's TTR Tour Finale - 6Star Burton US Open 2010

Riders from around the globe are currently making the trek to Stratton, Vermont for the men’s last 6Star event of the 2009/2010 Swatch TTR World Tour season. The 6Star Burton US Open is set to take hold of Stratton Mountain Resort all next week with slopestyle finals scheduled for Friday, March 19th and halfpipe finals set for Saturday, March 20th. This gives the men two opportunities to obtain good results and improve their TTR ranking score for a chance to finish in the coveted TTR Top 5. For the women, the US Open offers the chance for riders to secure a good position in the rankings before moving on to the women’s season finale, the 6Star Roxy Chicken Jam. There are a host of cash and titles up for grabs at the US Open including the men’s portion of the TTR prize purse worth a total of $110,000 USD that will be handed out at the TTR Awards Ceremony following halfpipe finals which will also see the official crowning of the 09/10 Swatch TTR World Snowboard Champion Peetu Piiroinen.

TTR Burton Canadian Open 2010 Promo

The Swatch TTR Burton Canadian Open (“CANO”) is coming back to WinSport Canada's Canada Olympic Park on February 1-7, 2010. Join riders from around the world in competing in world class halfpipe and slopestyle courses and for a $50,000 cash purse. The third stop in the Burton Global Open Series, the CANO will be a crucial stop for riders looking to accumulate BGOS points. This is even more important this year, because the top 3 men and women BGOS riders will be awarded major cash for their hard work (like $50k for 1st, $30k for 2nd and $20k for 3rd). The CANO is also proud to be a 5Star TTR event….just another reason to get out there and compete. All riders that compete will earn TTR points, but the top male and female rider will walk away from the CANO with 800 TTR points and a chance at the TTR Championship title.

Burton European Open 2010 - TTR Round Up

As the Swatch TTR World Snowboard Tour descended on Laax for the 6Star Burton European Open we saw a tour de force from Finnish rider, Peetu Piiroinen, who managed to place first in both slopestyle and halfpipe. Norwegian wunderkind Mikkel Bang threw down an exceptional performance on the fantastic slopestyle course placing second, while Iouri Podladtchikov managed to place 3rd in the pipe which moved him up to 5th on the TTR World Snowboard Tour Rankings.

Happy Birthday! Launching into its 10th edition in 2009 the Burton European Open will celebrate a big birthday party in LAAX, Switzerland, from January 9-16, 2009. Juniors, newcomers and top riders from all over the world will battle for important BGOS Ranking Points and 6Star Swatch TTR Ranking Points. Burton European Open 2009 HP Teaser

The Burton European Open goes into its 10th edition in 2009! Previous events were organized by Burton in 4 different locations, since 2005 the BEO found his home in LAAX. The first event happened in resorts around Innsbruck in 1999. After a year?s break the BEO moved to Fieberbrunn in 2001 to join the legendary ?Lords of the Boards? event. In 2002 the BEO got revamped and found its base for 3 years in Livigno. Since 2005 the Swiss freestyle resort LAAX is the official home of the BEO. The BEO is well-known for it?s tradition of creating themes and implementing them all through from the contest-setup to the side events to the general look of the event. In LAAX the ?Casino-Gambling? theme impressed as well as ?Mexico? and ?BEO Airlines?. And in 2009? It?s party time:

August 2nd 2008: Running with full momentum off her Slopestyle title win yesterday, 07/08 Swatch TTR World Tour Champion Jamie Anderson (USA) surprised everyone today with an epic first run in the Halfpipe finals to take home her first Halfpipe Title at the 5Star Burton New Zealand Open 2008. With her second win, Anderson claims another 850 TTR ranking points, extending her Tour Lead by over 60 points.
