Star Tier Points Breakdown

The Swatch TTR World Snowboard Tour is based upon a ranking system where riders obtain points at accredited TTR events. The number of points available at a TTR event is determined by the Star level of an event. A rider is awarded TTR ranking points based on the Star level of the event and his/her final placing in the event. For example:

Ranking points are awarded to riders competing in the following freestyle formats*:
* All Event Formats at the same star tier carry the same points value

  1. Slopestyle

  2. Big Air/Straight Air

  3. Halfpipe

  4. Quarterpipe

  5. Rail Jams

  6. Corner/Hip Jumps


Rider's TTR ranking score
Each rider’s ranking score is calculated as the average of the 6 best posted results in the current season.  The number of results counting will be adjusted each season depending on the number of events on the tour and other factors.

If a rider has less than 6 results: If a rider has posted less than six results for the season, his/her total number of results are still added together and divided by six to generate their TTR Ranking Score.
If a rider has more than 6 results: The results with the lowest TTR ranking points are dropped. The best six results are then averaged for the rider’s TTR Ranking Score.

Season-End Bonus Points

The Season-End Bonus Points system was introduced in order to build loyalty and continuity on the TTR World Tour. At the start of each new season, a rider carries over his/her final ranking score from the following season. For instance, Peetu Piironen will carry over his first place ranking score from the 08/09 season into the 09/10 season which is counted as one of the six required event results in the new season.

How does a rider become the Swatch TTR Tour Champion?

The rider with the highest amount of TTR Ranking Points after the last 6Star event of any given season is awarded the TTR World Champion title.  The TTR awards the champion title to one male and one female at the end of each season. In addition to the title and the glory, the Champions are awarded $50,000 USD for their outstanding efforts on the TTR Tour.
