Well, we had some interesting opinions from you all but the consensus was that you’d have to see it before making a call. A wise decision which we at TTR also share. So in light of that here is the first footage to drop … thoughts?

postheadericon NIKE CHOSEN SERIES KICKS OFF – ANDY NUDDS WINS FOR THE UK!

Nike Choosen Nuddsy NIKE CHOSEN SERIES KICKS OFF ANDY NUDDS WINS FOR THE UK!

TTR would like to say a big congratulations to the Andy Nudds for winning the first leg of the Nike Chosen Series tour at the Hemel Snow Centre. He was run close by the likes of Marc McClement and Jesse Smith but in the end he clinched the win by landing two enormous frontside 1080s – the first time the trick has been done indoors.

There was plenty of style shown by all riders such as local Will Radula-Scott and Lewis Sonvico showing some impressive spins, but another local, Sam Cullum, who took the “Mans Stylish Rider” award. Sam’s bag of tricks included big 7′s and textbook back rodeos. The “Best Female Rider’ award was snapped up by Becky Menday. But once the snow dust had settled it was clear to people that Nuddsy had done enough to take the title. As the winner of the first leg he will be heading to Austria in April to compete against the other winners from all over Europe in the Chosen Series final. The UK could not ask for a a better representative. Do you think Nuddsy has what it takes to become the European Champion?

Again TTR would like to congratulate the winners shown below:

postheadericon TTR RIDE SHAKEDOWN SNOQUALMIE – RAIL JAM RESULTS

Seattle, March 18, 2011 – Round 2 of the TTR 4Star RIDE Shakedown USA kicked off on Friday with the amateur qualifications and rail jam competition at The Summit at Snoqualmie. The event’s long awaited return was greeted by eager athletes at the resort located a short 45 minutes from Seattle. As the night winded down, the crowd cheered on the Rail Jam finals and a much welcomed snowfall.

A total of 24 amateur athletes from North America competed for their chance at the RIDE Shakedown semi-finals against world-renown professionals. In the end, only three riders were given the privilege to move on to the next round. It came down to the day’s movers and shakers Pat Lynch from Big Bear City (CA), Caden Michnal from Kalispell (MT), and Mitch Richmond from Mammoth Lakes (CA).

Rail Jam title goes to Jeremy Cloutier
The lineup for this year’s Rail Jam competition was impressive. Topping the list of pro invites was last year’s Rail Jam winner and local Austin Hironaka, looking to defend his title. Also present were Ryan Paul hailing from Cottage Grove Minnesota, and Quebec native Jeremy Cloutier. The setup design was tricky; requiring all 32 riders to really focus on speed and technique.

TTR RIDE Shakedown Rail Jam
The result was an exciting show where the only two Canadians partaking in the final took top honors. Jeremy Cloutier, who placed 3rd at the 2009 RIDE Shakedown, proved his reputation as a rail king by putting in two solid runs that gave him enough of a lead to skip out on his third and claim first place. His best of the two? A frontside 180 gap, switch backside 360-out on the kink rail. As for RIDE Shakedown DE 2011 winner Matts Kulisek, he earned another podium finish and $2,000. Not to be forgotten is Johnny Lazz. The rider from Carnelian Bay finished in third, earning $ 1,000.

postheadericon TTR QUIKSILVER WIR SCHANZEN TOUR – SAJAS PARK GAMES 2011

TTR 2Star Sajas Park Games 2011

64 riders from six countries came to participate in the Sajas Park Games on 05th March 2011 which was the fourth stop of the Quiksilver Wir Schanzen. A mix of sun, perfect setup, relaxed atmosphere and not to forget the action of the snowboarders contributed to make it a gorgeous day at the Silvretta Montafon.

The early bird gets the worm – there was already a morning-hurly-burly at accreditation. Thanks to the many working hours of the shaper crew at the NovaPark a perfectly shaped setup was waiting for the riders: A phat kickerline, rails, boxes and other jib-obstacles did not leave anything to be desired so that the guys and girls could really show what they are made of. The riders offered a great show to the visitors and judges and demonstrated their best tricks. The relaxed atmosphere with cool music and yummy hot dogs made everybody enjoy a dreamlike day at the NovaPark.

The riding Level was High

First the kids broke the ground and it was a hard fight for the victory. In the snowboard kids category the winner Merlin Nigsch (AUT) had a big smile on his face. Then the stage was given to the girls who strikingly demonstrated their skills and Kristine Bezbailis (LAT) could triumph in the snowboard girls category.

The Sajas Goodie for Tricks Session took place between the qualification and the finals and everybody could win shirts, bandanas or caps. After that the men were called into action. Many visitors got to see a high riding level and the job of the judges did really not have an easy job. Patrick Morscher (AUT) could stand up to his competitors and creamed off the ranking points. Beside prizes he also got international TTR points and a wildcard for the AM Contest Ride Shakedown in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

There is not much time to breath: The last qualifier stop of the Quiksilver Wir Schanzen – the Jungle Fever – is waiting for you on 19th March 2011 in the Thuringian Forest. The cooperation of the Orange Jungle skate and snowboard shop and the “Thüringer Szene” will welcome the Wir Schanzen community with open arms.
