Swatch Art Rules Design Contest is back! Don’t miss out on the chance of a life time to have your artwork featured on the 2012/13 TTR World Tour Trophy and matching TTR Swatch Watch. Swatch and TTR are pleased to announce this third annual Swatch Art Rules Design Contest. The TTR Trophy, sculpted by renowned “Coarse” designer, Mark Landwehr, acts as a blank canvas for you to get creative! One lucky winner will have the honour to have their art work being part of snowboarding history.

Swatch Art Rules is a great way to showcase your art work and break into the spotlight through the snowboard and art worlds. The TTR Trophy is featured throughout the season and is awarded to the tour champion live onstage at the biggest events in the sport. Imagine people world-wide wearing your design round their wrist as the winning design will be produced on a Swatch watch and distributed world-wide in 2012/2013!

This year’s installment of the design contest presents a challenge to the artists of the world: submit a graphic design that expresses the themes of Progression and Style. Progression and Style are two elements that run through all aspects of snowboarding and an artist’s interpretation of these themes will make the TTR Trophy and Swatch Tour Watch aesthetically complete.

A jury of snowboard and art experts selects the winning design from all submitted proposals. The top three nominees will be invited to the Swatch Art Rules Night gala event on 12th May 2012 in the Los Angeles area (USA) where the winning design and artist are set to be unveiled to the world. In addition to the portfolio-building exposure, the winner also receives a two-week trip to New York City to soak up all the art and design inspiration of the Big Apple.

So what are you waiting for! Get your creative juices flowing, the contest is now on through to March 31st 2012 and you can submit your designs at www.artrules.swatch.com.

The Air & Style is back in Munich! After 4 years the legendary snowboarding event returns to the Olympic stadium where riders will throw themselves of the massive jump and entertain the crowd. An event of this kind would be nothing without a banging afterparty… and this is where our media partner Pleasure Snowboard Magazin comes in. The Pleasure crew is known for throwing wild and awesome parties which is why you shouldn’t miss this one.

Pleasure invites you to the Schrannenhalle in Munich on February 12th at 10pm. Responsible for the tunes will be Dj Tommy Montana, SCHOWI who is the frontman of the German band Massive Töne and last but not least DJ KLEVER from Atlanta who can usually be found in Las Vegas, spinning for live acts such as the Beastie Boys and Paris Hilton.

The New Year 2011 has kicked in and the Swatch TTR season is in full swing! Our partners at Onboard Magazine have published a brilliant piece encapsulating the essence and most important moments of the 2010 snowboard seasaon! Check it out to make sure you did not miss any of these moments!

“We caught up with Antti Autti as he was getting back on it from injury, and in contest land it’s game on in Davos as the O’Neill Evolution gets the TTR underway for the new year. Marko Grilc has the bookies slashing his odds for the Tour title as he follows up his December Air&Style win with 1st in the Slopestyle. Ursina Haller takes the women’s pipe, and it’s eyes on the double corks in the men’s pipe, with Iouri Podladtchikov coming out on top.”…..

The Air & Style riders draw was held yesterday, deciding which rider goes up against who in the 1^st knock-out round of the competition (see results here). The match ups look like it will be a crazy contest, as each match up seems impossible to call before hand.

That’s why we at the TTR office didn’t even try and give you predictions, but instead let our brave media partner Onboard make early calls about each face off: “Who do you reckon will make it through? Calling those 8 rounds of potential snowboarding El Clásicos is a tough call, but seeing as we put it out there we’ll give you our predictions…”

Our media partner Onboard caught up with two time TTR Tour Champ Peetu Piiroinen (FIN) after the Nike 6.0 Air & Style Munich Press Conference and grilled him on his season plans, thoughts about the Swatch TTR Tour, who he sees as his biggest competitors and so on.

Onboard write: “Peetu is a machine. Not only did he hit up all the major TTR contests and slayed it to take his second successive TTR World Tour crown, he also jumped through the Olympic hoops to nab himself a silver medal and even managed to bag himself the BGOS overall crown too. And when you watch him riding you can see why – the kid is so good and so consistent that it’s almost inconceivable that he won’t be stomping down the hammers no matter where or what he’s hitting.”

Last Monday the Munich Town Hall saw a mixed crowd of pro snowboarders and journalists gather to hear the exciting news on the return of a beloved event. The Nike 6.0 Air & Style Munich will this take place on February 12th, 2011, one week after the 6Star Billabong Air & Style in Innsbruck, Austria. This makes THREE 6Star Air & Styles for the 2010/11 season!!!! The Beijing event taking place on the first weekend of December 2010. Awesome!  So, scribble a set of tickets on your Christmas wish list and grab your buddies to go check out some of the most spectacular snowboard action on the globe!

BIG AIR STUTTGART is having the top-notch DJs to entertain the crowd. DJs will be playing at the event itself and of course at the After-Show Party on the 5th of January 2011. DJ Stylewarz (Double Trouble), DJ Mixwell (Samy Deluxe), DJ 5ter Ton (Massive Töne) and the Famous Deck Team will bring everyone into party mood and will make it an unforgettable and unique event.

The 6Star TTR event Air & Style is about to go in its 18th winter season and Innsbruck (AUT) will be again the place to be on the 5th of February 2011. Besides the progressive set-up and the good riding, the Billabong Air & Style Innsbruck is also known for the huge music acts at the Bergisel Stadium. This year Jan Delay and Pennywise will entertain the crowd and melt the ice in the winterly Innsbruck Bergisel Stadium.
