Elias Elhardt and Werner Stock have had a bangin season so far with Elias winning the Horsefeathers Pleasure Jam and placing 3rd at the Air & Style Beijing and Werni coming into 2nd place at the Relentless BigAir Stuttgart. So before Elias and Werni threw down in Stuttgart last wednesday, they grabbed some friends to shred the Penken Park in Mayrhofen. After all, they shouldn’t forget to have fun in between all this stress of winning contests…

WHAT’S YOUR CHRISTMAS WISH?

Elias Elhardt (GER) got himself a christmas present already by booking a ticket to the Philippines. He wants to get some sun and good surf before his season kicks in properly. Because of the perfect snow conditions he is now back on his board with a sun tan and full of energy for the upcoming season.

Chris Kröll (SUI) isn’t about any material things or about having the latest stuff. His christmas wish is to stay healthy. He also wants everyone to be happy for christmas, especially his nephews.
As a pro snowboarder his wish is good snow for the season, too. “1meter of powder wouldn’t be too bad.”, said CK.

Beijing’s Olympic Stadium is turning into a huge Big Air setup and the spectacular construction is currently well on the way. The first year of the 6Star Oakley and Shaun White present Air & Style Beijing 2010 is getting ready to kick off soon. Here are some photos from the event site.

16 riders have confirmed for the event and will soon make their way to the capital of China. TTR World Ranking No.1 Gjermund Braaten (NOR) and the two time TTR Tour Champion Peetu Piiroinen (FIN) are both getting ready to show their skills at the 6Star TTR event. Don’t forget there will be a live webcast from this event, so you can also be part of it.

NIKE 6.0 AIR & STYLE MUNICH PRESS CONFERENCE

Last Monday the Munich Town Hall saw a mixed crowd of pro snowboarders and journalists gather to hear the exciting news on the return of a beloved event. The Nike 6.0 Air & Style Munich will this take place on February 12th, 2011, one week after the 6Star Billabong Air & Style in Innsbruck, Austria. This makes THREE 6Star Air & Styles for the 2010/11 season!!!! The Beijing event taking place on the first weekend of December 2010. Awesome! So, scribble a set of tickets on your Christmas wish list and grab your buddies to go check out some of the most spectacular snowboard action on the globe!

Blue skies, fun and friends – this is how Elias Elhardt, the winner of last weekends 4Star Horsefeathers Pleasure Jam experienced the event at the Dachstein Glacier. The park was in great condition and the riders were battling it out over the course of the 2-day event. Elias Elhardt claimed his second win in a row at the Pleasure Jam with Finnish ripper, Ville Paumola in second and Tor Lundström (SWE) in third.

On the womens side, Enni Rukajärvi (FIN) took home the 1st place with her solid and clean runs and reclaimed the No.1 position on the TTR World ranking. She was followed by British Aimee Fuller in second place and 16-year old Katarzyna Rusin (POL) in third place. Last weekend’s Swatch TTR 6Star snowboard mega-event, the Billabong Air&Style Innsbruck 2009/II was one of the highlights of the 09/10 Season for sure. The double cork factor has changed snowboarding in a groundbreaking way and there is no end in sight in terms of variations. CONGRATS TO ELIAS ELHARDT (GER) WHO HAS JUST JOINED THE TSG TEAM!!

Elias Elhardt inspires with a sensational snowboard season start. At Freestyle.Berlin the crowd went wild during Elias performance. Dominating all other freestyle disciplines he ended up as Crossover Champ 2009. Fully motivated he participated at this season’s first TTR Tour stop, the 4Star Pleasure Jam on the Dachstein glacier, securing himself not only the first place but he also won a 3 week’s surf-trip to Bali with his Backside 1080 Double Cork best-trick-performance. Beside contest success, the 21 year old German also shows great riding with his last part in this year’s Pirate Production „Jolly Roger“. After a 1.5 year break forced by health issues, Elias now really kicks off and does so optimally protected by TSG protection. At winter Ispo 2010 Elias will present his first TSG pro model helmet, hitting retail winter 2010.

WHAT’S HAPPENING IN THE GERMAN AND AUSTRIAN SNOWBOARD SCENE?

With the Air & Style coming up in Austria and Elias Elhardt kicking a*** on the Tour, I started thinking about the snowboard scene in those two countries mentioned. Also, if you are capable of the German language, you may have noticed that the German snowboarding scene, especially the Olympic team, has been in the spotlight in the media lately (like the article of FAZ you see above).

Why? Well….because apparently there is no German snowboarding scene???!!! Prove me wrong, but at least this seems to be the opinion of some skiing guys that sit in some pretty powerful positions and who, apparently don’t give a darn about supporting the sport and its young athletes. Or how can a country with such a great interest in the sport and so many fans of snowboarding not have a whole lot of successful riders out there at the comps. Austria is the same I guess, especially in regards to the upcoming Olympics: neither Germany nor Austria have a halfpipe hopeful in place. I mean riders like Silvia Mittermueller and David Benedek from Germany, the Aesthetiker crew, Julia Baumgartner, Lisa Filzmoser from Austria and loads more…they are rocking it but mainly in Slopestyle! And still they are underrepresented in the mainstream especially.

Again WHY????? No good possibilities to practice (halfpipe especially), are the good riders mainly going for photoshoots or are we (as in: I am German, too, as you might have guessed by now) simply not good enough??!! I hope to explore this question a lil bit more over the season so watch out for some more blogs coming out. And those of you that are not interested in this topic – go and read another blog

ELIAS ELHARDT AT PIRATE VIDEO “JOLLY ROGER” PREMIERE

The Northern Hemisphere leg of the TTR Tour is about to begin, and one sure sign of the winter coming are the snowboard video premieres. Last season Elias Elhardt (GER) bagged some great results on the Tour and managed to squeese in the filming for a great part in the Pirates new snowboarding video. Here’s the scope from the premiere:pics: Elias with Lene (itslenejohansen.com)On Friday night the Pirates were celebrating the result of their season quest at home in Innsbruck with a huge party, concert and DJ set for the premiere projection of “Jolly Roger” their latest video. Since Pirates mastermind never submitted to digital attraction, their movie are well known for combining sick actions with artsy quality 16mm filming.This year the crew composed amongst other by riders such as Austrian artist Gigi Rüf, Jibbing limits explorer Hans Ahlund, US prodigy Drew Fuller, tricks machine like Marco Grilc, Osa or Marco Feichtner saw the addition of quite a few talented riders: Juuso Laivisto, Stefan Maurer, Tyler Chorlton, Filippo Kratter, Stephan Maurer, Markus Keller and Elias Elhardt.Elias Elhardt, the upcoming German rider, had always looked up to the Pirates as the crew to join when he would be given the chance to film. Already get to ride with Gigi, be a member part of the pirate crew was a satisfaction on its own and made his season. Although he started filming in February and had to end his season after overshooting a landing early April, Elias was happy with his season as he had learned a lot and got tricks on film, session after session. He had no expectation on how it would look at the end but felt satisfied with was has been done.When his name was not showing up on screen during the video people started guessing he would get the closing segment. Like all good fireworks, videos are most of the time built with a powerful and outstanding performance as a closing segment. On that point, Jolly Roger was no different and Elias was delighted to get the final segment and appreciate the fact his hard work and the outcome of his season was appreciated by both the pirates editing crew and the people watching and screaming after his tricks. He landed back from Argentina the very same day and had in mind to party like an animal, believe me he put so much energy and joy into it that it seemed like a whole zoo was partying.Thanks to all the Pirates for the party and movie! Elias Elhardt, one of the best German riders on the Swatch TTR World Snowboard Tour, and team rider of our indutry partner Rip Curl has a new video out. Looks like the boy keeps himself busy. We are looking forward to seeing him on the Tour next year – maybe he can repeat his success at the 5Star Champs Open in Crans-Montana and the 6Star O’Neill Evolution in Davos. Unfortunateley he got confused with dates and sent us up one day to early. Didn’t matter to much though. Then we just slept on the bench for a while, went up with first regular gondola and had a supergood day shredding again.”Elias is supported by Rip Curl, Rossignol, Deeluxe and will have a video part in Rip Curl “Welcome Home” and “Jolly Roger” by Pirate Movie prodution.
