slopestyle overview Burton NZ openWhilst the pipe was being blazed by the prequalifiers, the slope course was tested out for the first time. The course consists of a 3-option stair set to start with into a tall rail or giant water tank jib. Then you lock yourself in for the first 50ft kicker , into a 65ft kicker, the flow continues into a 2 options either a flat down or down round bar and finally finishing with a fs or bs wall ride option. Day 3 US Open: Men’s Slopestyle Pre-Qualifiers and Halfpipe Practice Day

The weather in Vermont can be crazy at times, and today we got a little taste of ice falling from the sky. But, the riders weren’t deterred and took to the slopestyle course for the men’s pre-qualifier round. The pipe was also open for practice so men and women were dropping in getting a feel for the pipe and getting some runs dialed.

Today some clouds moved in over the Crap Sogn Gion Halfpipe but that couldn’t stop the 20 men and 4 women that made the cut in Laax’s icy superpipe to move into Wednesday’s halfpipe event. Amongst those lucky 20 are some guys that are well known faces on the tour.

Today the skies opened up after 2 & 1/2 ft of snow dumped on Laax over the past 24 hours. The junior competitions in slopestyle and halfpipe went down on Friday and Saturday, and today we saw the qualifying runs for the up-and-comers, and the big-dogs heating things up in some training sessions.
