Three snow parks plus super-pipe at the „Kitz“ • Glacier Park to open in October

A super-pipe is the newest addition to the Kitzsteinhorn Mellow Park in Kaprun, Salzburg County, Austria. Additionally, in the 2008/09 season the three snow-parks DC Central Park, Roxy Park and Glacier Park will be optimised and the Easy Cross will be installed at a new location.

As soon as the snow conditions allow, from late December 2008 or January 2009 the freestyle set-up at Kitzsteinhorn will be enriched by another highlight: then, a 150-metre super-pipe with 5.5-metre walls will be built at the Sonnenkarbahn slope. Apart from the altitude (2,650 m), snow cannons will guarantee for enough snow. The pipe is exposed to the North to keep down solar radiation and to ensure the same conditions at both walls. TTR BRINGING BACK THE STICKER SLAP

The TTR Crew took the massive 60-person gondola to the top of the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier to meet up with the girls at the top of the Roxy Glacier Park. The wind was howling and it was freezing! It was hilarious trying to get down.

While we were waiting in the restaurant at the peak, we noticed that all the rider’s boards were sitting in a row, so a TTR employee, who will remain anonymous, decided to bring back the sticker slap and plastered the TTR World Snowboard Tour logo on Jamie Anderson’s board. We’re still not sure if she’s figured it out, so we’re hoping it’ll stay on long enough for the finals tomorrow… Read the rest of this entry »
