Event History

The World Rookie Fest was born in 2003, finally becoming part of the TTR World Snowboard Tour last season. Every year, teams of rookies arrive from nations around the world, making the event a truly international event totally dedicated to the best rookies.

After the event in 2006 in Livigno (ITA), Tokyo (JPN) and Soelden (AUT), the World Rookie Fest is now a solid format for developing riders. The events consist of sport, competition, fun, social and educative activities, snowboard progression all helping the development from rookie to pro level.

Livigno will start the WSF World Rookie Tour 2007, with a TTR 3 Star status. The winner gets the prestigious title of European Rookie Champion, 550 TTR points and a ticket for a main TTR event. Other World Rookie Fest events will be in Korea, USA (tbc) and finals in Austria. All WRF events are reserved for riders, male and female, born from 31 august 1988 onwards.

The program of the Livigno World Rookie Fest includes an international slope style contest, a half pipe jam, avalanche & rescue clinics, social dinners, a meeting with an international team manager, photo contest and a final party.

Thanks go to the cooperation of Livigno resort as the Pro Snow Park will be reserved for the rookies for the entire competition. The slope will consist of many jumps and rails and some other secret features! Like in the previous events, all riders will have the chance to demonstrate their prowess in this top European park.
