Event History

After seven years of the SB Jam, O’Neill and Davos takes its successful partnership to the next phase. O’Neill Evolution, one of only six men's SIX(6) STAR TTR Swatch World Snowboard Tour events, features a world class halfpipe and a unique quarterpipe construction at the base of the Jakobshorn for the second time. Organised by O’Neill, shaped by elite snow-masters Claes Hoegstrom & David Ny, and guided by world-renown snowboard legend Gian Simmen, O’Neill Evolution aims to be one of the iconic events of this season’s Swatch TTR Tour.

A huge prize purse of US$100,000 tempts the world’s best riders, with a jam session format that allows for expression, creativity and true freestyle freedom. Open qualification rounds in both night-time halfpipe and quarterpipe contests will send 16 men into each semi-final to join the invited top 12 men from the Swatch TTR World Ranking List and 4 wildcards, including TTR patron and quarterpipe world record holder Terje Haakonsen (NOR).

The 16 men O’Neill Evolution finals promise to be sensational with the quarter - superpipe Night Finals broadcasted live on TV & web-cast.

The event will see the brightest stars of the snowboard world battle it out in Quarterpipe & Superpipe formats. The event will culminate under the cover of darkness in a series of breathtaking floodlit finals. And the fun doesn’t stop there. As the first TTR event of 2008, expect the parties to become the stuff of legends as the O’Neill Evolution stamps its existence on the world snowboarding stage.

With an estimated 25,000 spectators expected over the five contest days, O’Neill Evolution will be the ultimate snowboard freestyle session.
