Event History

The showdown at the end of the season will traditionally take place at the Absolut Park in Flachauwinkl! – Already for the seventh time the Spring Battle will take place in the Absolut Park. This year the invited and qualified riders can collect some extra TTR points beside the $ 27,000 prize money. Everyone who was already there can approve it: Even the audience gets its money worth at the Absolut Park Spring Battle. Spring temperatures provide a good mood on the mountain and international live acts will assure a relaxed Spring Break atmosphere at the party afterwards! Beside the massive Spring Battle Kicker, the shapers of the Absolut Park will build a Surprise Obstacle like in the last years. The audience and riders still remember last years Moto X Jump with 15m gap, the Wall Ride Tree Jib Combo of 2007, the „Bowl to Wall Ride“ in 2006 or the Slide Box over the Park Container in 2005. This year one has to qualify via „Friends Events“ like the Run to the Hill in Obertauern or the Absolut Park Event „Pop ’n’ Drop“. There will be no open „Amateurs Quali” before the event but a lot of international pros will be present. In the evening legendary Spring Break Party with a QuikSession live act will take place and Cowgirls and Cowboys – don’t miss the Spring Battle!

 

History

The first Spring Battle took place in 2003 and was won by Mone Monsberger. In 2004 Marco Grilc became man of the mountain followed by Steve Gruber 2005. The first rider who scored TTR ranking points was Martin Sandberg in 2006 followed by Ville Uotila 2007. Last year´s winner was Lars Oesterle who participated at this contest several times before.

The crowd witnessing the event is growing from year to year, with approx. 500 people 2008. The set up is always one of the most creative and progressive setups of the season, and the riders are stoked every time. The 2009 Spring Battle will be the 7th year the event has taken place planned to be continued for several more years and 2009 it will be a TTR 4Star event for the first time.
