Event History

After a terrific comeback in 2008 and an excellent continuation of the Billabong Air & Style Innsbruck-Tirol beginning of 2009 the spectacle happens again already at the end of this year in the Bergisel Stadium. On the 05.12.09 the 16 best snowboarders of the world fight at the Billabong Air & Style Innsbruck-Tirol 09/II – a six star event of the Swatch TTR World Tour – for the Ring of Glory. In the last two years the rider were confronted with a monstrous quarter pipe. Now in the third new edition they have to handle a Big Air Straight Jump over an enormous kicker. So the Air & Style returns to its roots. This discipline was the traditional one in the Bergisel Stadium in the 90s and also in 2009 it will cause quite a commotion. All fans can look forward for exciting tricks high in the air set in front of a breathtaking backdrop.

Besides the pros the youngsters get the chance to show their talent. 12 young riders compete against each other in the great popular rookie challenge. In the main contest 16 pros are expected and for sure also this time the Billabong Air & Style Innsbruck-Tirol 09/II will present a great riders list. Between the contests you get an earful…of music! The Hives will rock the stage in December in the Bergisel Stadium. The Swedish band already gathered Air & Style experience in 2007 in Munich and they know exactly how to make the crowd go crazy.

The Presale has started on 04.07.09. Only on the official Air & Style homepage www.air-style.com you can buy the tickets for grandstand and you better be quick because they will be in great demand. Compared to the tickets last year the prices are a bit higher which is caused by switching to a straight jump. That includes a new setup causing higher costs. But a ticket with a price of 37,00 € (plus presale fee) is still affordable and above all you can expect an exciting and massive show.

Billabong Air&Style Finals - Marko Grilc Moves to World No.1

News Flash: After a night of action on the big air jump at the 6Star TTR Billabong Air & Style 2009/II in Innsbruck, Austria, Marko Grilc took the top spot on the podium and is now the new leader on Swatch TTR World Tour. Grilc was not on the original invite list, but after two injures during practice for the main event, he was given a spot in the legendary snowboard competition.
