Zimtstern is proud to be a truly independent snowboard, skate, and surf wear label.

Founded 1995 in Switzerland by snowboarders, Zimtstern lives total commitment to quality, functionality, and style. If we don’t like it, we don’t make it. Distributed throughout the world, Zimtstern stays true to the international design- and snowboarding-hub Zurich, at the heart of Europe and the Alps. With our in-house design, product development, graphics, media design, photo, and marketing departments, we foster both the inspiration and talent to continue inventing and developing fresh ideas and styles with every collection - everything out of one office from action shots to zipperpullers. Thanks to our snowboarding roots and the world-class resorts at our doorstep, Zimtstern products are tested and improved continuously by both our employees, team riders and team-riding employees. In extension of our passion for the natural white stuff, we bridge the snow-less seasons skateboarding and with surf trips around the globe.

HISTORY

Zimtstern was founded in 1995 in Switzerland and originated in the idea of two hardheaded and creative snowboarders in distinction to the often uninspired trend fashion. Missing a unique European style in the snowboard apparel industry, the two company founders Thomas Meyer and Reto Kuster started their own thing, simple but with surprising details. This small do-it-yourself garage label developed fast to a stylistic influential brand. 
The foundation of Zimtstern GmbH in 1998 constituted a considerable challange due to the saturation of the Swiss market through mostly North American vendors. 
The continuous big success enabled Zimtstern to enter the German and Austrian markets as early as in 1998, too. Today Zimtstern enormously enlarged its summer and winter collections and extended its distribution continuously.
