TTR Oakley Shaun White Air & Style Beijing 2011 - Wrap Up

Ulrik Badertscher (NOR) won the Oakley Shaun White Air & Style Beijing competition in the Olympic Bird's Nest stadium tonight, followed by 2 Norwegian wingmen Torstein Horgmo and Stale Sandbech. Ulrik received the coveted Air & Style Ring of Glory and 1,000 TTR World Ranking points.Ulrik's winning run was a very clean backside rodeo 1260, which was also awarded Red Bull's Best Trick. Torstein Horgmo commented: 'Norway did OK today. There is no secret to it, we just all got juiced and we just follow some bad ass dudes, we just try to keep up.'Favorites Sebastien Toutant (CAN) and Seppe Smits (BEL) both failed to reach the podium like last year. Seppe had the best results in the first round, but didn't manage to land his three attempts in the second round. Seb's cab 1260 double cork wasn't good enough to beat Ulrik's smooth double backside rodeo 12 Indy Grab, which gave him the highest score of the second round.

In last years Oakley Shaun White Air & Style the riders benefitted from ideal conditions on the ramp and kicker, towering almost 40 meters above the ground of the Olympic Soccer Stadium, enabling the riders to perform tricks with a long airtime. Thus 8,800 spectators enjoyed a series of double corks and other tricks with the highest level of difficulty and outstanding style. The young Chinese crowd was enthusiastic about the athletic performances of the 16 world-class snowboarders and two local Chinese heroes as well as about the show of Chinese music super star Wang Leehom.

TTR - The Oakley Arctic Challenge Finals - The Oakley Edit

The clouds broke up in Oslo, Norway at Tryvann Vinterpark for the men's and women's slopetyle finals at the 6Star Oakley Arctic Challenge. The women took to the course in the morning for a heated session, where Jamie Anderson (USA), once again, pulled ahead of the other competitors to take the win. The men's finals went down in the afternoon and Chas Guldemond (USA) was awarded with the win for his flawless run on the progressive slopestyle course. TTR - The Oakley Arctic Challenge 2011 - Chas Guldemond Takes 1st Place

The men's finals went down in the afternoon and Chas Guldemond (USA) was awarded with the win for his flawless run on the progressive slopestyle course. Chas and Jamie were rewarded with the lion's share of the $100,000 USD prize purse and 1000 Swatch TTR World Ranking points. With her win today, Jamie solidified her place in the World No. 1 position and is going to be tough to overtake in the women's race for the TTR World Tour Champion Title.The men's final all came down to the last runs where riders were trying their best to get ahead of Chas Guldemond who stomped a nearly perfect first run on the long slopestyle course. Chas put together a masterful run that consisted of a Cab 270 to frontside boardslide on the down rail, a switch 50-50 to method on the canon rail, Cab 1260 on the step-down jump, backside 1080 on the step-up jump, a 50-50 to backside 360 on the flat rail and finished with a crowd pleasing double backside rodeo on the last jump. Chas was beyond excited with his win saying, "I'm really happy with the way I rode and to stay in first place through the last run really means a lot to me. I think it was my day today and it all came together perfect. What an amazing experience." Young American rider, Tyler Flanagan, pushed his skills to the max in his last run to take second place scoring just two points below Chas.In the women's competition, Jamie Anderson ruled the slopestyle course with her signature style and is now in an excellent position to take the 2010/11 Swatch TTR World Tour Champion title after her win in Oslo. Jamie won the women's competition with a run made up of a noseslide, 50-50 to backside 180, a huge switch backside 540, backside 360, tailslide to 270 out and ended her run with a stylish backside 540.

TTR Oakley Arctic Challenge 2011 Trailer

The Swatch TTR World Tour is running full steam ahead with the 6Star Oakley Arctic Challenge right around the corner. The legendary event, taking place in Oslo, Norway, will feature a progressive slopestyle course for both men and women, starting off with qualifications on February 17th and featuring the finals on Saturday February 19th 2011. As always, the rider list is stacked full of talented riders who will be competing for a share of the $100,000 USD prize purse and a maximum of 1000 TTR World Ranking points. The male and female winners from The Oakley Arctic Challenge will also receive automatic qualification into next year's inaugural World Snowboarding Championships, which will go down next February, 2012 in Oslo.
While the results of this weekend's 6Star Nike 6.0 Air & Style will have a major influence on the current TTR Top 10, The Oakley Arctic Challenge is sure to see a determined performance from Peetu Piiroinen (FIN), who currently sits in World No. 1, and has his eyes on finishing in the top spot of the Swatch TTR World Rankings for the season. He will, however, need to deal with some heavy competition from young Canadian contest superstars, Sebastien Toutant and Mark McMorris, who are currently in World No. 5 and World No. 6, respectively and have been singled out by Peetu as some of his major threats in the race for the Swatch TTR World Tour Champion title. Mark recently took the coveted 6Star Billabong Air & Style Innsbruck title and Sebastien won the 6Star O'Neill Evolution slopestyle competition in January. The riders list also includes up-and-coming American rider, Eric Willett, and talented Belgian rider, Seppe Smits, who are both also sitting in the TTR Top 10. American rider, Jamie Anderson, has paved her way with several victories to a promising lead in the TTR World Rankings, and will be attempting to bolster her points in order to secure a second TTR World Tour Champion Title.

In the 2009/10 season, age 22, Kevin Pearce sustained a severe traumatic brain injury on December 31st, 2009 while training in the halfpipe in Park City, Utah. Recovering well and hoping to be back on snow as soon as possible, Kevin Pearce, still is one of snowboardings living legends - endlessly entertaining and inspiring to millions. TTR - Shaun White And Oakley Present Air & Style Beijing 2010 - Finals

Snowboarders from around the world made the trip to Beijing for the first major event of the Swatch TTR season, where they put on a spectacular display of top-level snowboarding for a crowd of excited Chinese fans. The snowboarders were pleased with the massive gap jump setup built out of scaffolding, which had riders dropping in from 40 meters above the ground in the Olympic Sports Center Stadium. The Air & Style events feature a unique head-to-head format and Sebastien Toutant, who won the event with a Cab 1260 double cork, overtook Smits in the final round beating his respectable backside 1260 for second place. Sebastien Toutant was ecstatic saying, "It's awesome, I think it's by far the best moment of my life, for sure. My first 6Star win, I'm stoked to be in China for the first time. Couldn't have been better than to win the event today!" Elhardt was awarded third place for his backside 1080 double cork.With his win Toutant advanced in the TTR World Rankings to the World No. 3 position. Another young gun, Seppe Smits (BEL), took the second place podium spot and Elias Elhardt (GER) took the third place position.

TTR - Shaun White and Oakley Present the Air & Style Beijing: Day 1

Riders Ready to Go Head-to-head. 
The Riders Draw took place on Thursday evening after riders returned from the stadium. All the Air & Style events feature a unique head-to-head elimination tournament-style format. So, after training, the riders were brought together to choose names out of a hat to see who will go head-to-head in the first round of competition on Saturday. Each rider will have three runs and the rider with the best score moves on to the next round, while the rider who loses is knocked out of competition. Current Swatch TTR Tour leader Gjermund Braaten (NOR) explains, "You gotta be on it from the start and you gotta throw down your best trick from the start to make it." He was paired with Seppe Smits (BEL) who was excited about the match up saying, "Im up against Gjermund for the first run, It's gonna be a tough match, but I'm looking forward to riding and trying out the jump tomorrow, so we'll see how it goes. "Austrian Werni Stock was paired with a Norwegian youngun, "I got Stale Sandbech, one of the rookies. He moved in for iouri and is a super tough rider, super young and super motivated. I saw some serious tricks from him like Cab 12 and back 10 doubles. I'm gonna give it my best, wish me luck, I really need it. It's gonna be fun. " Stale was equally nervous about his opponent saying, "Werni Stock picked me. It's gonna be hard! It's gonna be really hard! It's a tough contest going head-to-head, and all the riders are really good. It's gonna be a tough challenge for sure." Andreas Wiig (NOR) comments on his opponent, "I got scotty Lago. He was the only one who hit the jump today so I'm shaking in my pants right now."The riders will have one more day of training tomorrow (Friday) before the action kicks of in front of 15,000 fans on Saturday 4th December 2010. Swatch TTR World Snowboard Tour: Progression in Snowboarding

"Progression" is the fourth segment from a collection cut out of the 2009/2010 Swatch TTR TV Show series. The 2009/10 season was a year where the game changed on the TTR Tour with riders learning different variations of double corks in both the pipe and on the slopestyle course. Dew Hut Jam 2010 at Mt Buller - Highlights

Team Oakley has taken out the Dew Hut Jam in style, pocketing $12,000 in prize money and proving their metal on a specially built course with ride-able 'house' at its centre.
