Kevin Pearce is destroying the snowboard scene. Judges, fans and cameras have kept their eyes glued to the 20-year-old power house from Norwich, Vermont, in what has been a breakout year with numerous podium finishes and Title victories at some of the world’s most prestigious snowboard competitions.
Kevin has honed his skills in all areas of the sport, from Quarterpipes, to Halfpipes, to Slopestyle and Big Air; there’s nothing that can stand in the way of this on-snow warrior. Last season he finished within the TOP 10 at every single TTR event he entered and he sacked 3 Top star level event titles including The Oakley Arctic Challenge (2007) QP, Nissan X-Trail Nippon Open (2007) SS and the Burton New Zealand Open (2007) SS.
His season's performance saw him finish in 4th position in the 06/07 TTR World Snowboard Tour, less than 40 TTR ranking points behind Travis Rice (USA) and right in front of his buddy Danny Davis (USA), who finished 5th.
The 07/08 season is already witnessing the potential of Pearce, with an incredible Title victory at the Nokia Air & Style Munich in which he pushed through the favourites and intense field of heavy-hitting, elite riders, making it to the podium stomping smooth, solid and stylish 1260s, solidifying his place as a Big Air master.
Recently, Kevin proved he's one of the best halfpipe riders in the world, claiming the Halfpipe Title at the 6-Star Burton European Open. Pearce took on legendary pipe rider Shaun White and beat him on his third and final run, going absolutely huge and stomping one of the biggest McTwists ever seen. Pearce also took home his second 07/08 Air & Style Title victory at the 5-Star Billabong Air & Style Quarterpipe 2008.
An amazing victory at the 6-Star Oakley Arctic Challenge confirmed Kevin as THE rider of the 07/08 season. Breaking barriers and claming back-to-back TAC Titles with sky-high McTwists, newly honed Rodeo 5s, and one solid BS Air, Pearce has become one of the definitive competition riders in modern snowboarding. His final TTR appearance at the 26th Annual Burton US Open in his home state of Vermont saw Pearce take third in the Halfpipe, earning him enough points at the Tour's defining competition to claim the 07/08 TTR Tour Championship.
Kevin however, also balances his competition career with a healthy dose of filming and shooting – an important part of any snowboarder’s regular season. He teamed up with Shaun White for a special part in Mack Dawg’s ‘Picture This’, flew to Alaska to film for Burton’s Team video ‘ Thanks in Advance’, and made sure to spend some quality time with his FRENDS, bagging shots from all over the world.
