My favorite place to ride is in the Tahoe backcountry because it is so close to home, the terrain is super sick and it is always bluebird out!

I started shredding at the ripe age of nine!

Damm there is so many! I would say my top three are Terje, Chad Otterstrom, Jamie Lynn.

What do you focus on most - slopestyle? Pipe? Big Air? and why?

I focus on slopestyle the most because it is the most fun for me to compete in and it can be so creative.

What is your most memorable snowboarding experience?

I would say when I won the US Open in 2009. It gives me goosebumps just thinking about it.

Your on the road a lot throughout the season - what is your favourite place to visit and why?

Switzerland is one of the best places to visit. I love the food,  I have some rad friends that live there and the mountains are so big!

What does a normal day consist of for you when your not snowboarding? Wake up and eat breakfast, check my daily planner, go to the gym, eat lunch, and knock out some emails. When all that is done I do fun stuff like skate, dirtbike, wakeboard, hangout with my wife, watch movies and all sorts of other fun stuff.

How has TTR affected your snowboarding career?

It has effected it in so many ways! The best part about the Tour is traveling with the same great group of people  throughout the season and getting to know each one of them on a personal level. Its really like having a second family with you on tour and you live and grow with them throughout the years. Its awesome!

Slopestyle for sure. It's where I feel I can do my best and feel most comfortable. I love having the pressure of laying down an entire run.

Probably filming with BrainFarm for The Art of Flight. It's cool to see and be a part of everything that goes into such a huge project.
Your on the road a lot throughout the season - what is your favourite place to visit and why?
This place in Italy called Livigno. It has an awesome park and the town is really cool. Or Norway is rad too, that city is amazing!
What does a normal day consist of for you when your not snowboarding?
Wake up late, geek on my laptop, go for a mountain bike ride, hang with my girlfriend and friends, play video games, geek on my laptop some more, and go to bed really late.

How has TTR affected your snowboarding career?
It's definitely played a big role. Just being a part of all the 5 and 6 star events has helped a ton. You get a lot of recognition from those events. I think one of the most fun parks to ride is Absolut Park in FlachauWinkl. They have a pretty long line with a bunch of fun features to play around on and at the top of the run there are 2 big jumps to chuck some tricks.
For powder riding I like Gerlos in Zillertal a lot! There are so many lines you can do without needing a sled or anything.

What age did you start snowboarding?
I started snowboarding when I was 9 years old.

What snowboarders do you most look up to?
I've always looked up to Mikkel Bang. From when he was a kid in "White Balance" until now! And definitely Travis Rice as well.

What do you focus on most - slopestyle? Pipe? Big Air? and why?
I'm focussing on slopestyle and big air. I've never had the chance to ride any pipes when I was young since there weren't any on the indoorslopes. So I never got the same feeling in it as I have on jumps. That's why I like jumps more and find it easier to ride.

What is your most memorable snowboarding experience?
I think that is the Air & Style in Beijing. The whole combination was just perfect! First time in China, first Air & Style, my best BS 12 ever and getting 2nd place!

Your on the road a lot throughout the season - what is your favourite
place to visit and why?
I always love going back to the places where my career started, which are Gerlos and FlachauWinkl. Gerlos is just always a fun time shredding with the guys from the Hotzone snowboardshop. And in FlachauWinkl I always do more backflips in 1 day than I do in the rest of the season.

What does a normal day consist of for you when your not snowboarding?
I try to wake up before noon, haha. Then will go for a gym session, do some emails and have a little beer in the evening.

How has TTR affected your snowboarding career?
TTR has definitely made my career for a big part. Without those contests I would've never become a known snowboarder. I'm a real contest rider as well so all those contests have pushed my level a lot. And for every contest I try to get new tricks to get an as good result as possible.

Sometimes I  work at horse stable in the morning. And I hang out with my friends and do different kind of sports like tennis, golf or football.

Been riding for 8 years. It’s not getting any less fun than when I started!Take us through your 06/07 TTR Season.Last season, the 06/07 was not so good for me, I did the Air & Style before Christmas and that was way fun. I got knocked out by Hampus, but it was still a good experience. Right after Christmas going into the Burton European open in Laax, I kind of went too far on a jump and broke my back, so that was it for the winter part of the season. I kind of got back a bit quicker than I expected. I wanted to for sure but everybody else expected it to be longer. I came back after three months and was back in April in the states shooting again. So that went pretty quick. But for the TTR Season, I didn’t really have the best of luck with me.What is the TTR, in your eyes, doing for snowboarding?For myself I feel the TTR Tour is a good way for up and coming riders to show themselves, I guess it’s been pretty big in Europe, and that’s what I did, just starting out and signing up for some contests and ended up getting invited to most of them, I feel fortunate for that. That’s what the whole tour mean’s to me.So this year, you’re off to a great start in the TTR Season. Tell us about that.I’ve been riding a lot this summer, since I was chilling enough this past winter, I wanted to do a lot of riding this summer and fall. I went to Mt Hood, and Australia, and Norway and New Zealand. And did all different kinds of shooting. You can check that out in the DC video that’s coming out soon, or is it already out? It’s coming out soon. Haha. This is the first contest (Air & Style) so I’ve been kind of taking it easy right now just riding mellow and taking stuff slow and playing by ear. I went to Mt. Hood and I won a car and some cash a couple titles, the abominable snow jam. That was a good first experience for Mt. Hood I hadn’t been there before and that was fun as hell! And I went back home for a couple weeks and then I went first to Australia, for the Australian Open and got 2nd there in the slopestyle and fourth in the pipe, that was fun, then I went to falls creek for Stylewars and went home with that title as well. Didn’t really expect any of it but, it kind of happened. It’s been fun though shredding, I haven’t been shredding as much in the off season before so it’s been a good experience for sure.Explain what being a professional Snowboarder consists of in the current season. What will you be doing?If I don’t get injured, this week I’ll be doing the Air & Style, and the following week flying to Tokyo for the X-Trail Jam. And maybe go straight to the east of Canada to do some filming of just street rails. Then for Christmas I’ll go back home for family. In January I’ll be out in Colorado for a couple contests then go straight to Tahoe and start filming. Hopefully that goes will with no injuries maybe a couple more contests, maybe that’s about it for the season. I’ll try and get as much done as possible and have as much fun as I can, going to a lot of new places and gaining some experience.How can you explain the addictiveness of snowboarding and what that feeling means to you?If you’ve ever strapped in for the first time and you get that first feeling of standing up and making it down the hill. I still get that feeling a lot and that’s why I keep doing it. It drives you, that whole rush. I wouldn’t replace it with anything else. It’s just….you gotta figure it out for yourself….you know what I’m talking about. If you’ve done it before…taking a pow turn and having a good day on the hill with your friends that’s why I keep doing it. It’s just…I dunno…it drives me crazy if I don’t do it I guess. I sit there at home and I can’t stop thinking about it.What’s your favourite rush? Is it hitting a kicker? Slashing pow? Standing on the podium?I don’t have an answer for that. You can’t compare it. Winning a contest and getting that kind of experience and that kind of “rush” is totally different than a good day on the hill with your friends and a few perfect pow turns. It’s just little things that keep you going. Those days on the hill with your friends, you have a bunch of smaller experiences that build up and keep you going. That’s one part of it. And if you do well in a contest it stokes you out so much you want to go do it again! You need to go all out on all fronts.Is there a downside in your lifestyle and to professional snowboarding?Well if you get hurt, I don’t have that steady job at home and I see all my friends going to work, and living that kind of life, and I sit there and feel kind of useless and can’t do shit. That’s definitely a down side and if you’re sitting there in one spot for too long and not getting to do anything good, cause of the weather, you’re stuck. What I try and do is change location…. That’s a downside - if you get stuck.What do you like to do outside of snowboarding?If I’m not snowboarding I like to go skateboarding. I wouldn’t consider myself I good skateboarder but I can at least have fun with it especially with friends. Whatever I do I try to do it with people I know because it just makes it a lot better. I’m not much of a golfer but I hit up the driving range a few times every now and then. And Xbox… I’m pretty good at Xbox. Hahaha. I played a lot of Xbox while my back was injured haha. I sure enjoy playing it.A part from the tour, do you concentrate on filming? Explain the process of trying to make a good film part.You just have to think a lot of what you want to do and what kind of tricks you want to get on film. When you have a session with your friends and you’re filming and trying to get a good trick, and you know what you did to get it, and then you see the final product and you see yourself in that video you get to say to yourself “hey, I did that! That was me!” You feel like it’s an accomplishment to get a full video part of your tricks for others to see. It’s a good feeling and that’s what keeps me hungry for it. I want to get bigger and better tricks and cooler video parts and what not you know? And you’re out there the process is you travel, you go with the film crew, you get out there and you set up and do what you want to do and it ends up on film and that’s a good feeling for sure! When you see the final product and you know where you’ve been and how you did it. It’s all good. I like that.What would it mean to you to win the TTR World Snowboard Tour?I dunno I guess I’ll have to find out! I know what it feels like to win a contest and it’s an awesome feeling and I guess winning the TTR Tour is not going to be less of a feeling. It would for sure be crazy. This tour thing is getting more and more popular and here you have all these crazy riders and top dogs from all over the world coming here and it’s getting bigger and bigger. I love to ride in Laax. They basically got everything there.. a jib line down the whole slope, a good kicker line, and fun terrain if there is powder!

Slopestyle, because i think it's the most fun.

A couple of years ago when we got chased by the ski-police in Livigno. It was super much pow and everyone got away after a sick adrenaline run!

I think wanaka is my favorite place.. It has it's own charm and always when I'm there I have a really good time.

March 2006 was Reid’s big break, finding a spot in the limelight after placing fourth in the Slopestyle at snowboarding’s most grueling and prestigious contests, the 6Star Burton US Open. The following 06/07 season saw Reid march upon the TTR Tour with some Top ten finishes including the 4 Star Abominable Snow Jam and 5 Star World Super Pipe Championships.

It wasn’t until the end of the 07/08 season however, that Charles would find himself at the top of the TTR Ranks. After placing ninth in the Slopestyle at the 5Star Nissan X-Trail Jam, Reid returned to the slopes of Stratton Vermont for the US Open and managed to find his first TTR podium with a third place in the Slopestyle. In similar fashion, he bagged another third at the 3Star Quiksilver Showdown over the City in Vancouver, BC, a strong result that placed him at World No. 21 at the end of the season.

2008/2009 was also a killer season for Charles and it started off strong. In a 2009 interview with Snowboard Canada Magazine, Reid touted that his goal was “to make the Top 10 at the end.” A bold preface, but a reality he would embrace in due time. With a win at the 4Star Oakley Stylewars after “a tough three days with some of he best riders in the world”, and a second place at the 5Star Burton New Zealand Open brought him some deserved recognition. It was there where he unleashed what would become one of his signature tricks, a variation of the ever popular Double Cork, a move that helped him find the podium several more times during the season.

He kept working tirelessly, crossing the globe, competing in Swatch TTR events, but it was not until he returned home for the 5Star Burton Canadian Open that he found himself on the podium again with a third in the Slope and a fifth in the pipe. Proving his agility with two more second place results at the 5Star Asian Open and 5Star Intelligent Design, Reid had established himself as one of the hottest riders on the Tour. Completing his season with a fourth in the pipe, (his best HP result to date) the 09 6Star Burton US Open was also the battleground upon which he broke the TTR Top ten, finishing 2009 as World No. 6. Seems like planning ahead will get you places.

After a 09/10 season with lots of finishes outside the Top 10 at the major events on the Swatch TTR World Snowboard Tour including a 13th place at the Burton US Open, and his final Swatch TTR ranking in World No. 20, Charles Reid is still one of the most lethal riders on course and will no doubt be looking to improve his World Ranking in 10/11.

Snowboarding since he was 13, he grew up riding around the Norwegian area of Trysil with a solid crew of older snowboarders.   He soon progressed and started to train at the NTG Academy in Geilo, Norway, a school which combines snowboarding and a formal education for talented athletes.  The NTG ‘School Of Shred’ paved the way for his entry into the Norwegian National Team. As of then it wasn’t long before the young Kim Rune Hansen found a sponsor in Burton, scoring good contest results and drawing international attention.

In 2007, Kim rolled into the TTR spotlight when he impressed judges and fans alike at the Oakley Arctic Challenge (TAC). Launching monster airs and technical flips this new rookie demonstrated to the world why they needed to sit up and take notice.  Throughout the duration of 2007, Kimmi continued to post strong results taking out the Helly Hansen Invitational and placing second in the Norwegian Big Air and Slopestyle Championships.  Then in 2008, he claimed his first TTR 6Star title with a gigantic Chuckflip at the 6Star O’Neill Evolution Quarterpipe contest in Davos, Switerland.

Kim also put together an awesome part in the Burton film “It’s Always Snowing Somewhere” last season, but unfortunately he smashed his ankle whilst filming.  The injury did not deter him and he trained hard, putting in the hours to regain his fitness.  However, luck was not on Kimmi’s side when on his first day back on a snowboard in New Zealand he went down hard on his fifth run of the day, breaking his opposite ankle. 
Back after injuries in 08/09, Kim competed in major contests such as the Air & Style, the European Open, US Open and the O'Neill Evolution. He furthermore concentrated on the FIS World Cup. With results always outside the Top 10, Kim managed to finish the season in World No. 25.  Keen to improve on his 08/09 result, Kim Rune started his season off early in New Zealand at the Burton NZ Open Slopestyle which he finished in 29th place. Other major contests he entered in the following did not go as successful as usual for Kim with results outside the Top 15. He posted his best result of the season in Grandvalira at the 4Star Total Fight and in Livigno at the 5Star Burton river Jump where he finished in 15th in the Big Air format. He ended the 09/10 season 6 ranks lower than the year before, in World No. 31. Interview  You won the 6Star QP Event at the O’Neill Evolution last year.  That was a pretty insane contest.  You must have been stoked to win.  How did it feel?  It felt pretty awesome. I didn’t expect to win and I had a lot of fun riding that day.  It was my day. I landed a good trick and felt really good about it.
 
 
I read a quote on TAC website that your goal for this season was to get into the Top 10 TTR Rankings.  What is motivating you to do this? Do you thrive on competition? What is your plan for the season? My motivation is probably to just have fun and ride. I also like contests, at least when I have fun at them.  My plan for this season is just to do some contests, learn new tricks, and just have fun with friends.  Hopefully no more injuries!
 
I watched your video part in ‘It’s Always Snowing Somewhere’.  You were going huge, launching some sick tricks.  I also heard you injured yourself filming this, breaking one ankle, underwent rehab, and then after five runs in NZ you broke your other ankle.   It must be frustrating. How have you dealt with these injuries? Yeah it was pretty frustrating, but I kept training, went to the gym everyday and now I am in better shape than ever.  Well maybe not at the moment since I just had surgery on my thumb four days ago,hehe.   It’s pretty unlucky, but I can ride so no worries.
 
Has being out of action motivated you do well this season? Yeah it has, and it gave me motivation to train more and make sure that I won’t get more injuries like that. So hopefully I will have a great season
 
There are a lot of awesome Norwegian Riders on the TTR.  How do you plan to stand out from the crowd and get up there alongside Horgmo, Wiig and Bang? I don’t know. They are some really good riders, and luckily I get to ride with them a lot and learn stuff.   I will also go my own way and do my tricks with my own style and hopefully the world loves it. I´ll become a great snowboarder like them.  I also ride pipe which they don´t really do.
 
 
You have been gradually been making a name for yourself on the TTR Tour (last year finishing in 18th position).  How has TTR helped you make yourself well known in the snowboard scene ? The TTR is a pretty good thing which helps me with getting a bigger name in the snowboarding industry.
 

 
I also read you grew up riding with older guys who pushed you hard at your winter home in Trysil and NTG (snowboard school) at Geilo in Norway.  Who pushes you to step up?  My friends and those I ride with pushes me and make me want to learn new stuff.

Ruka in Finnish Lapland. It has a quick lift, so you get to do loads in a good park. Another big plus is all the friends you get to ride with over there.

I think I was 8 or 9.

What snowboarders do you most look up to?

Kazu Kokubo. He has great style and he goes big in any terrain. He's also a super nice, which pretty much wraps it all up.

What do you focus on most - slopestyle? Pipe? Big Air? and why?

I like to ride everything. There isn't so many good pipes around so I'll end up riding more slopestyle..Big Airs are good fun too. I just want to ride it all to keep things interesting. It would be boring to just focus in one discipline when snowboarding has so much more to offer.

What is your most memorable snowboarding experience?

There's so many.. One for sure was the first BEO win in Mens Slopestyle. That was just unbelievable. Then Nissan Xtrail couple of years ago was just so crazy with all the spectators and the atmosphere.. Olympics were cool too and off course all the TTR wins and overall titiles were so important. Snowboarding has given me so many good experiences and memories it is hard to point just one single one. 

You are on the road a lot throughout the season - what is your favourite place to visit and why?

New Zealand is super cool.  Riding is good and it's the start of the season so you are super stoked to get back on snow after the summer. Apart from riding NZ offers many other things to do too.. only bad thing is the getting there.

What does a normal day consist of for you when your not snowboarding? 
Tennis, golf and hanging out with friends. 

How has TTR affected your snowboarding career? 

I have been able to build my career on success at the events. It has opened doors, given me great opportunities and ultimately now it has given me a lot of freedom to do other things too.

My favourite place to ride is the Absolutpark in Flachauwinkl Austria - it´s my local park and all my friends are there!
It´s just fun cruising around with all the friends.
And the park got the sickest line ever... Kickers - Rails- Halfpipe - more rails or a superpipe, all in one line!

I started snowboarding when I was 10 years old- but at the beginning i only did boardercross and when i got 13 years I started with freestyle.

I try to do a mix of all, because I think that´s what snowboarding is all about... To be good in it all and not in just one thing! What is your most memorable snowboarding experience?
My most memorable snowboarding experience ?? Damn haha, i think when i got my first sponsor and when I won a competition for the first time! It's just an amazing feeling! Your on the road a lot throughout the season - what is your favourite place to visit and why?
Thaha, it´s the spa of my aunties hotel :) just awesome after a hard trip!

What does a normal day consist of for you when your not snowboarding?
Just chilling at home, catch up with friends, having a beer, having a laugh,   going out for a meal with my family and doing some workouts! How has TTR affected your snowboarding career?
For me the TTR was a perfect thing to start things off... And to show what i've got! The Tour is just amazing, it´s perfect for all the riders to compare their riding levels with other riders! Already featured on the covers of many European Snowboard mags, Christian also came out with a solid part for Mellow Mood Production’s Green for fall 07, which showcases his smooth style and ability to rip on all types of terrain.

Christian has been competing in many contests on and offside the Swatch TTR Tour already since 2004.  This kid has steadily worked his way up the rankings, improving over the years and now is competing for the top 5 spots on the TTR Tour and counts among the possible contender for the TTR World Champion title.

In 2009, he came back from an injury, more motivated than ever and with his graduation from school the same year, he has more time on his hands than ever to follow hos passion for  sport. The 2009/10 season has been the most successful of his career, finishing 6th in the 6Star Halfpipe format of the O'Neill Evolution and 8th in the Halfpipe format of 6Star Burton European Open, sitting in World No. 2 just before the Burton Canadian Open. Haller finished off his last season contest, the Burton US Open, in 8th place again in the halfpipe format giving him enough points overall to maintain in the final TTR Top 10 (rank 9).  Interview with Hitsch in February 2010
How many years have you been riding and who was with you when you made your first turns on the board? Tell us a bit about the people who support you and your career.
I’ve been riding now for 13 years. I started snowboarding when my parents moved from the city to the mountains. First I was riding pretty much alone. My mom would drive me every weekend to the resort and pick me up in the evening. Later on I got to know other snowboarders like Stephan Maurer and Markus Keller who helped and pushed me a lot.

How long have you been riding in contests and what is the first contest you rode in?
I competed the first time at age 11, it was a small Swiss Regional Cup.

How is it riding for the Swiss National Team and how does affect your riding goals? Do you all travel and practice together?
Being on the Swiss National Team is actually pretty cool. The crew is amazing with riders like Iouri and Markus. We have a really good relationship and try to push each other as much as possible.  I don’t even feel like I have a coach or something, we are all friends and get to ride and travel together. Plus TTR counts also for their criteria to make the National team so that’s even better!

 Switzerland seems to bring out some good snowboarders that also perform excellent on the international level. What is the snowboard scene in Switzerland like? Is snowboarding a well accepted sport there? 
Snowboarding got pretty famous in Switzerland. Gian Simmen might have had a big influence on that, because he was the first Snowboard Olympic Gold medalist ever. On the other side we have pure snowboard souls like Nicolas Müller and Freddi K. …those are pretty big names for such a small country. We have lot’s of good young riders coming up who push the level of snowboarding. So I would say snowboarding is really well accepted!
Also the mountains in Switzerland are pretty big and steep, it makes you a good snowboarder!
 Who do you love to compete with?
I guess everybody!

What are your plans outside of the tour? Filming goals? Other non-TTR contests?
I’m going to the Olympics and try to shoot as much as possible besides that. No movie production though, only photos! I haven’t made any further plans for the future.
How do you feel about the progression of snowboarding, especially halfpipe riding this season before the Olympics?
I don’t know. It got pretty wild this season with all those double corks. I don’t know if I should like that or not. On one side it’s cool to see new tricks and the progression. On the other side I think the risk adds up so much. You can see it this season, many riders got hurt cause of this huge progression. And the injuries get worse and worse cause the level is so high nowadays. This season’s for sure special cause of the Olympics, people are under pressure and try to keep up with the level, sometimes it works, sometimes not. I guess the progression has a good side but also a really bad side. And you have to think twice if it’s worth it or not!

How’s riding been for you so far?
It’s been good. I’ve been in New Zealand at Snow Park. It was good, was there for a few weeks.  I’ve been there before. It’s nice to just go shredding for myself. I also went to the NZ Open. Then I went to Saas Fee in Switzerland a couple of times, riding the pipe and they had a good kicker and two pipes – mostly for the world cup which I had to ride in – cause I’m from Switzerland.

Do you find it tough to keep up with sponsors?
No I don’t have to do too much. But it’s good cause they pay for trips and stuff so it’s cool for me. But yeah I’ve just been shredding here in Europe most of the year and now we’re here in Hintertux.

How was Hintertux?
Well I was here a few weeks ago and it was slushy, and they had really, really big kickers. They had two big ones, and now they have some new smaller kickers. You can hit a line now, which is good to prepare for the Nokia Air & Style.

Are you stoked to be riding in the Air & Style?
Yeah. I was at Munich last year and the year before…there were only a few riders before, Mikkel was there, Torstein was there, and Iouri was there. There were only 4 or 5 riders and last year was the first real rookie contest and it was just crazy. The kicker was so good. They treat us the same as the main event guys so it’s kind of cool, with a good prize and main event feeling.

Are you going to try and make it out to TTR events and compete this year, even in the rookie field?
Yeah, I mean I already got into it last year, but I’ll be doing the O’Neil Evolution, and I’m excited to ride the European open, and the Nippon Open and probably the US Open. I’ll see how it goes. I haven’t really planned my season. I’ll just go with the flow.

Do you do much filming? Any filming plans for this year?
I’m going to film with Burton. Which will be cool since it will be for the first time. So I’m stoked about that. Are there certain riders you like to shred with?
Iouri, guys from Burton, Mikkel, and other guys from Europe. It’s nice to ride with riders who are better than you cause it pushes you and it’s cool for me to be here with guys like that.

Anybody in particular you’re excited to see ride at the Nokia Air & Style?
I guess everybody! Cause it’s a head to head, you never know cause most of it’s so tough, last year the training was just huge and at the contest everyone was impressed. I like to see everybody. I’m excited about the double – cork ten (T rice) we’ll see if he pulls one.

Do you prefer big air’s to pipe? Do you like riding a certain style of event?
Well mostly the Big Air’s are in cities. I kind of like that cause you get to see the city and so many people come to watch. That’s kind of cool. I also like park riding. It’s all good.

What’s your favourite place you’ve been to city-wise?
City-wise? Maybe Stockholm because there are lots of hot girls. (that’s always a huge a factor) especially this year. Have you been to Japan?

Combining amplitude, technical finesse and skate influenced-style, Danny continues to dominate the contest circuit as well as establishing his talent in the backcountry.

The 2006 Transworld Snowboarding and Snowboarder Magazine "Rookie of the Year" finished the Swatch TTR World Snowboard Tour in 5th position thus granting him access to the world's biggest and most prestigious events on the TTR 6Star calendar in the 06/07 season. Three consecutive high level Halfpipe events in a row, the World Superpipe Championships and the Burton US Open, he came in second just a blink of an eye behind TTR Champion 06/07 Shaun White (USA).

The 07/08 season however was not the season he may have been looking for due to an unfortunate ankle injury that put him out of action. Danny managed to squeeze in three results that included a 9th at the 6Star Nokia Air & Style in Munich, and a 5th at the 6Star Nissan X-Trail Jam where he stuck an oh so sick inverted BS 7. His final appearance occurred at the 6Star Burton European Open in Laax, Switzerland where he placed 18th in the Slopestyle. His three results from a few top level competitions however, still managed to keep him in the TTR Top 100.
In 2008/2009 Danny erupted back onto the scene, taking out the 6Star Slopestyle at the Burton European Open.  Under clear blue skies and in front of a stoked out crowd, Danny went on to knock of some serious TTR contenders and walk away on top.  In 2009/10, Davis took home two victories at the Winter Dew Tour. However, Davis had to finish his season in January due to injury.

When Danny is not travelling the globe chasing snow he can be found skateboarding, listening to Bob Dylan and The Beatles, and working on his house in Truckee, California. ALL of them... i like to ride anything... just to mix it up, I also love hitting up rail comps to mix it up even more... but i have been slacking in pipe lately...

TOKYO, tokyo is the place to be, it is by far my favourite city out there...
What does a normal day consist of for you when your not snowboarding?
Golf, drums, girlfriend, sex, legos, playmobile and some wendy magazines.

A bunch, all the media that is popping in, all the good riders you get to know and just the experience of the contests makes one a better snowboarder.

Thats got to be at the World Rookie Fest 2010, that was my first good international competition and after the contest me and my friends were just shredding around in Livigno, learning new tricks and had a great time in the pow!

Yeah, gonna travel alot this season. My favorite place to visit must be Livigno, Breckenridge and Laax! I have always had a great time riding at these destinations, and my friends and i have some really sick stories that is worth remembering!

What does a normal day consist of for you when your not snowboarding?
This year im having a free year from school to focus on my snowboard future, so when i'm back home in Norway it's summer and there is no snow to ride. So i hang out with friends, train at the gym and doing some work. Got to save up some money for the season!

How has TTR affected your snowboarding career?
TTR has made me more motivated! It has affected my snowboard career for sure! When you compete in those big TTR contests, you'll get to ride against the pros. Breckenridge Colorado for sure. Showing up everyday to a perfect pipe and perfect jump line is something no other resort can offer. The vibe there is also awesome, the best riders are always around shredding.

I started skiing at age three then switched to snowboarding when I was seven.
 What snowboarders do you most look up to?
Ross Powers, Jerry Tucker, Danny Kass, Kevin Pearce were all killing it at my local mountain when I was young. Ross Powers, Luis Ryes and Chas Guldemond, have all had an influence in my career over the years. It's crazy watching and wanting be like those guys and then all of a sudden you are riding with them!
 What do you focus on most - slopestyle? Pipe? Big Air? and why?
I focus on all equally. Growing up I was always called pipe rider because that is where my skills were. But I love Slopestyle and hope to show people that I can ride it just as well.
 What is your most memorable snowboarding experience?
Last year at the European Open I was sitting in third place with one rider to drop, Peetu, he stomped his run and took the win. I finished 4th behind Peetu, Iouri, and Kazu. Just be near them was something I had only dreamed of!
 Your on the road a lot throughout the season - what is your favourite place to visit and why?
Each August I go to New Zealand for their winter season. It always provides the best memories, most beautiful photos and new friends. Could ask for better. Coming home is never bad either.
 What does a normal day consist of for you when your not snowboarding?
Go to the gym, respond to emails, write poetry, cause mischief, facebook/twitter/instagram. And being lazy. haha
 How has TTR affected your snowboarding career?
TTR has greatly helped my career along, the ranking list is something I can always use as motivation. I also love how the events are run and how there is a stronger rider community at TTR events compared to some other international competitions.

I would say, the trips i did to AK. There are so many sick pow days and so many times i thought i was going to shit my pants.

I like to go to Bali. Life is just so easy there.

I guess i just try to do something so i won't get bored and at home. So i'll go surfing or work out.

My favourit place to ride is Laax. Because I have all my friends there to ride with and the park last year was awesome. The backcountry part of Laax should be pretty good. Didn`t ride a lot of pow in Laax:(

I really like the style of Haldor Helgason.

What do you focus on most - slopestyle? Pipe? Big Air? and why?
I love them all! But I actually ride pipe the most time. Because I go to school in Davos and there it`s easier to find a good pipe than a good slopestyle.

What is your most memorable snowboarding experience?
The nike shooting last spring in Stranda Norway. I had the best time there without stress or stuff like that. Just cruising the whole time and having fun.

I like it to go to California. The parks there are just amazing, friendly people and we always visit San Francisco or Los Angeles and i love those cities.

Well, if I don`t have to go to school and I go skateboarding with my friends.

How’s your riding been so far?
I went to Switzerland earlier, just with my school. I’m still in school, which is hard. I went there to ride a little bit. It was actually pretty good.

Where’d you go?
Saas Fee. They had a triple line with jumps and a pipe and a couple rails. So that was epic. I was there for two weeks. While I was there with my school my friend Frederick Austbo asked if wanted to go the US…I was like ok! So we went there and when we arrived it was like summer!  Got to check out Breckenridge, and they had four rails maybe?

That’s it?
But we had so much fun. It was just good being on snow again. Get the ‘snowboard feeling’ back.

Do you guys surf or skate in the summer?
Yeah yeah yeah! Even went to Bali.

How was that?
Amazing! I’m going back for sure.

Have you started training? Or are you just getting a feel for your board?
Nah, I mean I don’t consider it really as training. It is in a way, but I’ve just been cruising and doing the thing that I always do.

So you’re riding Air & Style and you’re in the main event. Looking forward to that?
Yeah for sure. But it’s pretty crazy you know. I mean last year, riding the rookie challenge was a pretty big thing and then competing in the main event is so crazy, because I was watching these guys last year. It’s just the craziest thing ever. And now I’m all of sudden in it? It’s just crazy. I feel I’m good enough. But it’s all in my head…

Do you prepare for it in a certain way? It’s a pretty big kicker.
I’ve been thinking about this, it’s a contest, and it’s always in my mind, but I have nothing to lose I’m just going to do my best and see how it goes and yeah it’s fun and you get to meet lots of people. It’s such a good event and I want to come back next year cause the people are great. I want to do the best that I can.

Do you have goals for this season with the TTR?
You know I totally support the TTR, I think they are doing a great job for snowboarding, so I want to compete in as many TTR competitions as I can. My main goal in snowboarding though is to try and film as much as I can, because that’s what I always wanted to do since I was younger. But I’ll definitely compete in competitions.

Do you find it easy to balance filming and competing in the TTR?
Yeah definitely, it’s a good combination and I like to do both. So yeah for sure.

Do you have any specific plans this year?
Umm, that’s kind of a hard question, Last year was kind of a hassle filing cause I didn’t really know what to do, I’ve been talking a little bit with standard films, but I don’t know what’s going to happen, and I just have to call them and say, “hey what’s up”. I really want to film with standard cause it’s a good crew, and I know a lot of people who are going to film with them this year. But I dunno yet, hopefully standard.

Do you have guys you like to ride with most?
You know a really a good friend of mine, Torstein Horgmo, he’s doing really well in the TTR. I love riding with him and he’s a really good guy and hopefully we get to do some filming with him.

Do you approach contests differently? For example, Air & Style is mostly big air, with some slopestyle, other contests focus on pipe and some are just rail jams. Do you prefer a certain style of a contest?
Well to be honest I like the old way of the Air & Style, where they have just one, just one stylish trick and one good trick, you know what I mean? I thought that was kind of better, but I totally understand that Air & Style has to do something for the audience. Like most people don’t know the difference.

I like slopestyle competitions too. When you compete in Big Air competitions, it is just hucking around and sometimes it can be really cool. And people are like, “Yeah! That’s awesome!”, but I mean, slopestyle is more of a combination of what you can do in a run. And in way I think that’s cooler, then just launching off a jump, even though it is still cool being in a big air competition. Riding in a slopestyle competition is cooler than just doing one trick.

Are there any riders you’re excited to see ride at the Nokia Air & Style?
Oh yeah! All of them! They’re all good; it’s top level pretty much. And it’s a big honor for me to be in that for sure. Things are pretty crazy. Definitely can’t wait to see these guys and maybe learn some new tricks. And maybe I’m going to try and do something new, you never what’s going to happen or what tricks they’re going to pull. I’m stoked.

Is there a competition you’re looking forward to this season?
I always look forward to the US Open, cause it’s kind of like a tradition these days, with so many friends. European Open as well, so much fun. It’s cool, and really every competition is something to look forward to. It’s just those specific ones that you know and look forward to cause there’s people there you know.

How do you feel snowboarding is progressing these days, inside and outside the TTR?
Well with the big prize money it makes people try harder and go bigger and people pretty much want to win, but even like 1080s and 1260s, as we said earlier, it’s more of a TV thing, like it’s still sick and it’s hard and you have to be tough enough to do it, but I don’t think that’s the new way, I still think in the old school way of going out and filming and having a good part and a good song. That’s still my passion that’s still the thing I want to do.

What films did you like from last season?
Last season………I liked absinthe films. Cause I really like the riders and the crazy powder riding.

What’s your favourite place to ride?
That’s a hard question too. Every spot is a good spot. But definitely my home spot Hemsedel. Just because, well I didn’t grow up there, but I grew up riding there. And it’s like that you know? The US probably has the bet parks to go riding. Cause they have the resources to build the best jumps and the best pipes. And everywhere!! Everywhere is good. As long as there is snow it’s good.

When you’re not snowboarding what do you like to do?
Hanging out with friends, partying, chasing girls. Skate as much as I can and definitely surf, that’s a big thing in my life. It’s nice being on the water when it’s quiet. Then I get home and do homework. Try to be nice to my parents.

Is it hard to balance school with riding?
So hard to balance! I don’t think my school understands. They probably understand a little bit, but it’s so hard with traveling all the time. For example, right now we’re in Hintertux and the school’s going into exams and stuff, so when I go back I have a pile of exams and tests I have to do.

How much school do you have left?
I have one more year, till summer. I go until summer and then….

Do you go to school full time in the summer?
No! That’s for holiday! Spring Break! What do you focus on most - slopestyle? Pipe? Big Air? and why?
Not sure that i "focus" most on anything specific, i just like to ride everything. Not to much pipe though. What is your most memorable snowboarding experience?
First trip to Chile, Canada last year, the Air & Style contests and the list goes on! Your on the road a lot throughout the season - what is your favourite place to visit and why?
Hmm, i really like Sweden but i would say Canada is really cool.
What does a normal day consist of for you when your not snowboarding?
It depends on what time of the year, but i´m normally pretty lazy in the morning. Then i get something to eat and then i try to do something fun. In the summer i go skate or hang out at the lake How has TTR affected your snowboarding career?
