What is your favourite place to ride and why?
My Favorite place to ride is Hemsedal Norway, because I grew up riding there, knowing the place very well and it's fun to be there with all the friends from backhome.

What age did you start snowboarding?
7 years old

What snowboarders do you most look up to?
I look up to Gigi Ruf, because he is creative and he rides big mountains.

What do you focus on most - slopestyle? Pipe? Big Air? and why?
I ride Bigair and Slopestyle, because I enjoyed bigair & slopestyle the most when I started competing

What is your most memorable snowboarding experience?
With contests, TTR Burton European Open 2001 in Italy. It was my first contest out of Norway. But most memorable snowboarding experience must be the first time I went to Alaska to go ride some real snow.

Your on the road a lot throughout the season - what is your favourite place to visit and why?
Canada Whistler BC has become one of those places, because they got big mountains good skate parks and nice people.

What does a normal day consist of for you when your not snowboarding?
Very different from time to time, In Oslo when there is no snow I try to go skate as much as I can, make dinners and hang out with friends.. and we all have stuff to do work wise.

How has TTR affected your snowboarding career?
TTR helps to get your name out there, it's a really good chance for anyone to join in and compete.
If you get many points, then you'll get invited for more events, and that's how it starts for many riders.

TTR Oakley Arctic Challenge 2011 Trailer

The Swatch TTR World Tour is running full steam ahead with the 6Star Oakley Arctic Challenge right around the corner. The legendary event, taking place in Oslo, Norway, will feature a progressive slopestyle course for both men and women, starting off with qualifications on February 17th and featuring the finals on Saturday February 19th 2011. As always, the rider list is stacked full of talented riders who will be competing for a share of the $100,000 USD prize purse and a maximum of 1000 TTR World Ranking points. The male and female winners from The Oakley Arctic Challenge will also receive automatic qualification into next year's inaugural World Snowboarding Championships, which will go down next February, 2012 in Oslo.
While the results of this weekend's 6Star Nike 6.0 Air & Style will have a major influence on the current TTR Top 10, The Oakley Arctic Challenge is sure to see a determined performance from Peetu Piiroinen (FIN), who currently sits in World No. 1, and has his eyes on finishing in the top spot of the Swatch TTR World Rankings for the season. He will, however, need to deal with some heavy competition from young Canadian contest superstars, Sebastien Toutant and Mark McMorris, who are currently in World No. 5 and World No. 6, respectively and have been singled out by Peetu as some of his major threats in the race for the Swatch TTR World Tour Champion title. Mark recently took the coveted 6Star Billabong Air & Style Innsbruck title and Sebastien won the 6Star O'Neill Evolution slopestyle competition in January. The riders list also includes up-and-coming American rider, Eric Willett, and talented Belgian rider, Seppe Smits, who are both also sitting in the TTR Top 10. American rider, Jamie Anderson, has paved her way with several victories to a promising lead in the TTR World Rankings, and will be attempting to bolster her points in order to secure a second TTR World Tour Champion Title.

TTR World Snowboard Tour: Risks in Snowboarding

"The Risks in Snowboarding", is the 6th Video segment from a collection cut out of the 2009/2010 Swatch TTR TV Show series. This edit brings up the risks snowboarders face competing at events with purpose built structures that vary from event to event. The piece takes a look at Canadian rider, Sebastien "SebToots" Toutant's, injury at last years Billabong Air &Style Innsbruck and his firsthand account of the accident.  The kid is tough as nails, made a full recovery last season, came back to take a third place finish at the 6Star US Open slopestyle in March and will be competing at the Air & Style Beijing in a weeks time.Injuries are, unfortunately, sometimes part of a pro snowboarder's life. Even the most experienced athletes face risks every single day up on the hill and while competing at events. It's a fine line between stomping and bailing a trick and when a rider is going big and sketches out it can bring consequences.  In this video, Seb Toots, who is a very solid and consistent rider, was the first to test the speed for the large gap jump at the Billabong Air & Style Innsbruck last December.  Toots relives the moment in the hospital after the fall and explains, "I dropped, did two speed-checks and then right on the take-off, I figured, I was going way too fast." The setups and conditions are always different from event to event, and can event change by the hour, which is why riders need to test the jumps so they can dial in the speed and lines they need to take.  In this video you will see riders like Mikkel Bang and Torstein Horgmo, as well as, head judge Dan "Kiwi" Mayer reflect back on the day.
