Chas Guldemond

What is your favourite place to ride and why?

My favorite place to ride is in the Tahoe backcountry because it is so close to home, the terrain is super sick and it is always bluebird out!

What age did you start snowboarding?

I started shredding at the ripe age of nine!

What snowboarders do you most look up to?

Damm there is so many! I would say my top three are Terje, Chad Otterstrom, Jamie Lynn.

What do you focus on most - slopestyle? Pipe? Big Air? and why?

I focus on slopestyle the most because it is the most fun for me to compete in and it can be so creative.

What is your most memorable snowboarding experience?

I would say when I won the US Open in 2009. It gives me goosebumps just thinking about it.

Your on the road a lot throughout the season - what is your favourite place to visit and why?

Switzerland is one of the best places to visit. I love the food,  I have some rad friends that live there and the mountains are so big!

What does a normal day consist of for you when your not snowboarding? Wake up and eat breakfast, check my daily planner, go to the gym, eat lunch, and knock out some emails. When all that is done I do fun stuff like skate, dirtbike, wakeboard, hangout with my wife, watch movies and all sorts of other fun stuff.

How has TTR affected your snowboarding career?

It has effected it in so many ways! The best part about the Tour is traveling with the same great group of people  throughout the season and getting to know each one of them on a personal level. Its really like having a second family with you on tour and you live and grow with them throughout the years. Its awesome!

TTR - The Oakley Arctic Challenge 2011 - Chas Guldemond Takes 1st Place

The men's finals went down in the afternoon and Chas Guldemond (USA) was awarded with the win for his flawless run on the progressive slopestyle course. Chas and Jamie were rewarded with the lion's share of the $100,000 USD prize purse and 1000 Swatch TTR World Ranking points. With her win today, Jamie solidified her place in the World No. 1 position and is going to be tough to overtake in the women's race for the TTR World Tour Champion Title. The men's final all came down to the last runs where riders were trying their best to get ahead of Chas Guldemond who stomped a nearly perfect first run on the long slopestyle course. Chas put together a masterful run that consisted of a Cab 270 to frontside boardslide on the down rail, a switch 50-50 to method on the canon rail, Cab 1260 on the step-down jump, backside 1080 on the step-up jump, a 50-50 to backside 360 on the flat rail and finished with a crowd pleasing double backside rodeo on the last jump. Chas was beyond excited with his win saying, "I'm really happy with the way I rode and to stay in first place through the last run really means a lot to me. I think it was my day today and it all came together perfect. What an amazing experience." Young American rider, Tyler Flanagan, pushed his skills to the max in his last run to take second place scoring just two points below Chas.In the women's competition, Jamie Anderson ruled the slopestyle course with her signature style and is now in an excellent position to take the 2010/11 Swatch TTR World Tour Champion title after her win in Oslo. Jamie won the women's competition with a run made up of a noseslide, 50-50 to backside 180, a huge switch backside 540, backside 360, tailslide to 270 out and ended her run with a stylish backside 540.

TTR Billabong Air & Style Innsbruck 2011 - Trailer

The Bergisel stadium in Innsbruck, Austria will, once again, host a festive gathering of snowboarders for the legendary 6Star Billabong Air & Style Innsbruck.  The event will feature a massive straight jump for the 16 invited riders from around the world who will be competing for a share of the rich 75.000€ prize purse, the coveted "Air & Style Ring of Glory" and a maximum of 1000 TTR ranking points.  The battle for the TTR Tour Champion title is really heating up and the Air & Style Innsbruck event could be a crucial result in the race to the final event, the Burton US Open, in March.  Riders will also get another shot at a 6Star title one week after the Innsbruck event at the Nike 6.0 Air & Style Munich taking place on February 12th, 2011. An all-star crew of riders will be dropping in on the impressive ramp constructed out of 280-tons of steel and wood on Saturday's finals in the Air & Style's signature "head-to-head" format. This is an exciting and unpredictable format where one rider is knocked out of contention in each round until there is one victorious rider at the end of the night.  The riders will have 3 runs in each round. Last year's winner, Slovenian Marco Grilc, will be ready to reclaim his title and to boost his TTR ranking from his current World No. 26 position. Battling for the top spot in the TTR rankings is Swiss wildchild, Iouri Podladtchikov, and the two-time Swatch TTR Tour Champion Peetu Piiroinen. With a good result here, Piiroinen could move from his current World No. 3 position to take over Iouri's tour lead. Both riders have their eyes set on the title, as does the slopestyle prodigy, Sebastien Toutent (CAN), who already took the 6Star Oakley Shaun White Air & Style Beijing by storm back in December with a Cab 1260 Double Cork.Anticipation for the main event will begin on Friday, February 4th when riders will gather in downtown Innsbruck for the "riders draw" which will determine the starting order for the first round of competition.  Action on the jump will kick off on ...

TTR BIllabong Ante Up 2010 Finals - Seb Toots

The Billabong Ante Up competition, the first 5Star event of the 2010/11 Swatch TTR World Tour season, went off today with an excellent showing from a diverse field of riders. The summertime event was held up at 7,000-feet in the Camp of Champions park on the Blackcomb glacier and featured a massive 75-foot gap jump. The event featured 40 riders going for a piece of the $50,000 prize purse and 850 TTR ranking points. It was an all-Canadian podium and Sebastien Toutant (CAN) took the top spot making him $20,000 richer. Toutant also secured an automatic invite to the Billabong Air & Style Innsbruck. All the riders were pulling off some impressive tricks all day and it came down to a double cork 1260 race for the podium with all three riders doing different variations of the trick. Toutant won the first place podium spot with a flawless Cab 1260 double cork and had this to say about his win, "Winning the first 5Star TTR big air contest was just amazing, it was an epic final and it's sick because I'll be leading in the TTR ranking going down to New Zealand in August."Coming in second place behind Toutant and winning $15,000 was Matts Kulisek (CAN) who landed a backside 1260 double cork and Mark McMorris (CAN) took third place earning $10,000 for his frontside 1260 double cork. Other notable mentions include Gjermund Braaten (NOR) who also stomped a backside 1260 double cork to take fourth place and Chas Guldemond (USA) who landed a frontside 1260 for fifth place. Check out the new Swatch TTR World Rankings below. For full event results, news, videos and updates keep your eyes glued to the http://www.ttrworldtour.com website.
