In season 2008/2009 Shayne Pospisil has cemented his reputation as a U.S rider to watch on the Swatch TTR Snowboard Tour.  Like many before him, Shayne hails from the east coast, New Jersey, or the “Dirty Jerz” as it’s called.  He grew up surfing the Garden State waves at Manasquan but it was the icy pipes of Vermont that served to mould him into the explosive rider he is today.  Shayne’s talent was noticed early on and he began to train under coach extraordinaire, Ian Kirk, at the The Okemo Mountain School.  It wasn’t long before the sponsors were on deck and he was criss-crossing the U.S, tearing up Parks, Pipes and Kickers with style and technical wizardry.

Now residing in the epicentre of the U.S shred scene, Mammoth Mountain, Shayne has the world’s best park and pipes in his backyard, ensuring he is just going to keep stepping up his game.

Shayne’s 2008/2009 season started off strong down under where he placed 4th in the 4Star Oakley Stylewars.  He lay low on the Swatch TTR contest wise for a while, but then re-emerged with a bang at the 6Star Billabong Air & Style, where he slayed the Quarterpipe and came in 6th.  After that it was home to the states, where he went on to take out the inaugural 5Star Red Bull Snowscrapers in front family, friends and an ecstatic home crowd of over 20 000 people.  In what was a fairytale ending, the “Jersy Boy” hometown hero beat out the world’s best riders and was hoisted above the crowd with the New York skyline illuminating the background.

Pospisil has already become a favourite with fans, media and commentators and you can sure he’ll stay on the up as he throws down and puts Jersey on the map.  Quarterpipes, Halfpipe and Slopestyle – Shayne can handle them all which will make him a dangerous competitor on the Swatch TTR World Tour.
